Richard Melvin

Director and Producer

Richard started his career in broadcasting at the turn of the century as a volunteer at Radio Forth in Edinburgh where Scott Shaw kindly allowed him to make the tea. He quickly moved on to the achingly trendy Beat 106 in Glasgow before accepting a position as a production trainee at BBC Radio Scotland.

He produced The Fred MacAulay Show for nearly 5 years and has worked with with some of the biggest names in the UK entertainment industry.

Dabster Productions was established in 2006 and since then, Richard has produced over 300 hours of radio for the BBC and has produced and devised podcasts that have collectively achieved more than 5 million downloads.
