Scotland, Scotland….Jason Scotland

Captain Fandango, Lucy Adam and Richard Melvin combined to create Scotland’s official world cup song for the 2006 World Cup. The song is about the St Johnstone and Trinidad And Tobago player Jason Scotland.

They drafted in help form BBC Scotland’s Dave Flynn. Dave is well known on the Glasgow jazz scene with his piano balancing act. Dave sang the song and brought along a touch of pop star glamour to the proceedings.

The song captured the imagination of the Scottish public and at one stage had the backing of Scotland’s First Minister Jack McConnell.
